Carpet is In!

I can’t beleive it, we finally have carpet in the house. It feels sooooo wonderful to be able to walk on carpet again. The padding is lovely the color is great. It’s going to show dog hair but with the baby I hope to be better about keeping it up.

Shea’s gonna paint molding and doors this week, hopefully hang it all on Friday with help from a friend from work. Saturday/Sunday we’ll move into the house. If the weather doesn’t shape up soon I might as to have the bed put into the bedroom sooner cause it’s cold out here, not sleeping wise just during the day. I’m considering taking a chair and a folding table and my laptop into the office and staying in there, but we’ll see, it’s not exactly always warm inside either cause we’ve still got a few windows open we can’t exactly get to right now.

Granted the weather channel says its only 41 but it feels like 34. Not sure if I should be cold or not, but considering it’s been 60 to 80 for the past month or so 40 degrees is chilly. I might go get the space heater we bought for the bathroom to sit near me so I can stay out of my bed. I’ve already gone back to bed for a few hours cause I was chilly, and I wasn’t feeling well. Though I didn’t get nearly as nauceous as I did yesterday so hopefully my nerves are calming down now that we’ve got the carpet in.

I still can’t beleive we’ll be in the house by the weekend.

Baby & House News

Had a doctors appointment today. All is going well. Doctor told me that if I’m dialated around Christmas time he can induce. He said we didn’t have to, it didn’t matter to him. I told him as long as she’s not born on Christmas I don’t care. So we might have our little one with us on Christmas, how cool would that be. I will be seeing the doctor on a weekly basis now.

Earlier today, the guy who is installing our carpet stopped by with the padding and carpet. He will install it on Monday. Yay! Tuesday I will clean the desks and check for mold or anything and clean the crib, so we can get them all moved in over the course of the week and hopefully by next weekend we’ll be in the house again. Yay!

Roof and Carpet

We got the Roof on the house two days ago. Yay!

We have carpet people coming Monday or Tuesday to measure the house for carpet, then two to three weeks before it gets installed, but we are getting closer yay!

We are having a painting and tear out party on Saturday. Shea’s finishing the bedroom walls today and the bathroom walls too. Then it’ll be paint the panelling and get the living room, small bathroom and kitchen sheet rock cut and torn out and ready to be fixed up. Hopefully we’ll have a kitchen shortly after we get into the house… hopefully … maybe even before… that would rock!

Walls up … mostly

Yesterday Shea got rained out, so he worked on the house. He finished putting up all the panelling for everything but the master bedroom and sanding the bathroom walls. Now we have to paint the panelling, put up molding to hide the seams, primer and paint the bathroom, buy panelling for the master bedroom, put it up and put molding up at the top and the corners I think hopefully not the seams. Get a blue roof on (tarp) or get the new roof on, then the carpet can go in. We have to lay tile in the utility room after the roof stops leaking, and in the three finished closets then the carepet can go in, forgot about that. Then we can move into the back half of the house… carpet yay! heat even better.

Walls Started

Today Shea’s Dad came by with his trailer and we went to pick up the needed supplies for our walls. We didn’t go with what we had initially thought, but we are still doing a wanes coating on the bottom 32 inches of all the walls. We were going to go with a knotty pine coated with a high gloss polyurethane (sp?), but we went with strips of plywood and regular panneling. It’s white and goes well with most of the house.

Shea’s Dad also called Shea’s little brother and he brought a friend, and Den was here, so we had alot of help. All the peices are cut to height, now they just need to be installed and cut for the outlets and windows etc.

We are going to end up wallpapering the bedroom as the paint stripped off all the paper the primer is suppose to stick to. So we really don’t have much choice and neither Shea or I want to wait till we can hang more sheet rock. We’ll just have to do something else.

The bathroom is almost finished. We’ve got all the panelling up in there, the vanity in, the sink top and sink in. Shea’s finishing up the molding now. We are going to have to paint the bathroom it doesn’t go well, and also the molding will need to be painted. Neither one is a real big deal and can wait till later if necessary.

We are a few steps closer to getting back into our house, even if it is the back half of it. It’d be no different than when we first moved in, except we still won’t have a kitchen. Though that will be our next project, after the room. That’s gonna be the fun one.

Internet Finally

We finally got our internet back up and running. And there is alot of catching up to do, when I’m up to it I’ll do more and tell ppl more of what’s going on, but right now I’m just trying to get things mostly started and done so that I can get on with more important things.

Things didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped with the Warders but I only hope that things will get stronger with the discussions that have been going on. I’m not upset about any of it, and it’s really not a bad thing, just a misunderstanding. At least that’s my thought on it, but now to get caught up on all the random things that went wonky while I was gone. (Not with the Warders) just everything in general.

Life is an interesting thing. FEMA has given us their estimate, and so has the insurance adjuster, and the money won’t be enough to cover all the repairs so I hope that the SBA loan will help out alot. I will finish that up soon and send in the information so hopefully we can get more money.

We are doing well. The baby is doing well, kicking all over the place. Diamond cut her foot pretty bad, hopefully things will be okay with her, I’m a bit worried, as can be seen by my upset stomach and my headache. She is doing okay. I think on Monday I will go get some antibotics for her just to be on the safe side. God knows what she did. And God only knows what bacteria and stuff is still floating around after the flooding.

Carpets in

Yay! We have painted the walls in all the rooms minus the kitchen and we’ve got the new carpet installed. After we get things in place and settled in I’ll work on uploading the final pictures.

Only a few things will be in place, but it’s all good, we’ll get it all finished shortly I’m sure. It looks soo nice tho.

Yay Walls

Last friday walls went up into our living room. Yay! we now need to float them out and get the carpet in.

Carpet is suppose to be installed on the 22nd, a week from this wednesday, so we are finally moving onto the final stages. About time!

The rest of the house

I started painting the guest bedroom today. I did the trim and tomorrow I will paint the walls. Then I’ll work on the library or the guest bathroom, depending whether or not Shea gets the vanity out of the bathroom.

We’ve finally decided on a theme for the living room. I’m however afraid of the colors I want to use, so we’ll see. But I really like the idea. I want to see if my Mom has a really cool picture of fall at home and blow it, making that the centerpeice of my front room. We’ll see tho.

An Update on Life

I’ve not been written here a while, life’s been really really busy for us. We closed on the house and have moved in now. We are still working on the house. We’ve painted the master bedroom a cool shade of blue and are painting all the trim white and adding white molding along the walls like pin stripes to break up the blue wall.

The hallway looks like sand, it’s really really cool. It was a lot of work for Shea to do. I’m proud of that walk way. It looks really cool. The office looks like a really ripe apple. It’s called Apple-a-day. It’s nice.

I will have pictures soon of them online, I just don’t have the time right now, as I’m waiting for Shea to call at lunch and then I need to go grocery shopping.

All is well here. Tho Diamond isn’t really sure of the house yet. She’s whinney and wants out all the time. She’ll get use to it.
