I have a need to write. It’s one creative outlet short of Web Design that I love to do. But I have not been able to sit down and write a story/novel/book or anything like that. I start, but never get anywhere. I long to write with other people – cooperative fiction as the case may be, an RP for others, but writing none-the-less.

I don’t know how people come here, or who subscribes to my feeds, all I know is my blog stats show a bit of activity so I just want to clarify a few things. I am not a niche blog. I talk about everything I’m interested in.
My sub heading is “My Family, My Life, My Journal” for that reason. I will talk design and programming, I will talk about my family, I will bore you to death with my girls and their growing up. I will write about my writing adventures about role playing and cooking. These are all things I like, all things I do. I am not a niche blog, unless I’m a niche lol.
I have a lot to say today lol, and it’s only almost 5am. *sighs*
I’m excited about getting a puppy. I really hope we can find one we all agree on. I’d really like to have a puppy sooner rather than later. Provided the weather holds out today we will try to go to the closest one, but we are under a winter weather advisory. What does that mean? WELL that means if it even starts to snow, doesn’t even have to stick to the ground, things will start to close. First and foremost being the high rise bridges over the various rivers around here. So guess what that means for us – we either stay home, or we go the very long way to get to things lol. The last time it snowed here it was my very first Christmas here. We were at Shea’s parents house and the bridge we needed to take was closed. We were like 5 to 10 miles from home and had to go 30 miles out of our way to get there. It probably would have been closer to go back to Shea’s parents house, but we didn’t, we went the long way home on Christmas night lol.
I would like it to snow, but I’m not counting on it. If it does it’ll be late, and dark and the girls won’t really be able to go out and play in it. But hopefully they’ll be awake to see it snow. It’s a late TV night for us so it’s possible they might see snow.
Today we go sign paper work for the girls ER trip for their overdose of children’s tylenol. I’ve been meaning to get that paperwork set up so the payments come out of Shea’s pay check, but it’s just one of those things that went by the way side. But tomorrow after Shea gets home from his over time we’ll go sign the paperwork and then hopefully go look at puppies. I really don’t care what we get, I just don’t want a yipper. I can’t stand little dogs or over hyper ones.
It seems I’m going for a goal of a post a day on my blog, I doubt it will actually work, but we’ll see. It really does depend on the weekends. During the week it’s an easy feat just have to think up something to write about, we’ll see if I can manage that this month. Maybe writing my fustrations down will help lol.
But anyway, I’m looking for PSDs to convert to HTML/CSS templates, more importantly to convert into functional wordpress designs. I have downloaded about 20 different PSDs to use as my learning base. This is actually what I love doing, so for a limited time ONLY I’m looking for other people’s creations to create into wordpress designs they can use.
While I can theme wordpress with the best of them, I’m looking at this more from a development point of view. I have two goals in mind here. 1) to take the psd of someoneelse’s creation and make it look like it’s suppose in XHTML and CSS and 2) to create a customizable theme with al ot of features that do not require a plugin.
So for a limited time, like two weeks from today I’ll take a stab at anyone who can send me a PSD to convert into a wordpress theme. This work is free, but because it is free I can’t make any guarantees, this is a learning process and I may or may not finish it, or it may not come out quickly or exactly as you had intended.
About two weeks or so ago I left Dragonmount for personal reasons. For those of you who are worried about DM8 don’t be. I’m still working on it, just not in view of anyone other than Jason, Kevin and Jenn. Don’t contact me about it cause I’m not likely to answer :P.
Anyway, by leaving I lost my place to write in the interactive fashion that I really enjoy so I’ve been searching for a game that fits my needs. I think I’ve found one in Escapting Reality. It’s a small site based around the World of Darkness (vampires and werewolves in the modern world). I had to create a character concept and then go through an audition. I made it through then I really wasn’t worried, just concerned I’d not fit into their view of what an RP post should look like but I didn’t have any problems.
Below the cut is the audition plus the final comment I got from the person giving the audition.

Way back when I first joined Dragonmount I created a character belovedly named Matalina. Today marks the end of an era, she is dead. Matalina has been through so many transitions and so many different things I figured now was a good time to end it, she would never have made it to Tarmon Gaidon anyway, I never intended her to.
I have archived the end of my favorite character in a massive novel size document: Murder in the Yards. The story takes Matalina, now Cari Namere back to Tar Valon and saves her family with the ultimate sacrifice. I did not write this alone, there was many many many participants and I’d like to thank all of them for participating in this rp, it was awesome even though it was VERY long.
I am an avid RPer at Dragonmount and we’ve been working on a very long plot line and it’s nearing completion. Anyone is welcome to come read it and if you are part of Dragonmount you will be the jury. Come read, follow and join us for the outcome only you can give us!
I have started a new journal. This one is dedicated to the diary of one Character I love to death. This will chronicle her daily life as well as all the events that have happened to it over the past ten years. Matalina aka Cari is by far my most indepth character and I love her.
I am enjoying writing for her as a Trainee, seeing how naive she once was. Soon that will change and you will get to see those changes first hand. You will get a glimpse into the life that only few knew and get some details that have not been shared before.
I hope you enjoy the story as it unfolds. If you knew Matalina as a character with your character at Dragonmount and want a piece of the pie so to speak I’m sure we can work something out. Some have already made an appearance and others will show up as time goes on. To name a few familiar faces. Yveva Sedai, Tarishima Sedai, Ben T-Gaidin and Reikan Souvan. Many more will follow.
I’ve started my story and so far I’m proud of it. It’s going well and it’s not WoTish, except for the “bond” thing which I can’t ignore but vampires and magic aren’t necessarily part of the WoT so far so good!

This month has been good to me. I have finished one Freelancing Project for Age of Legends, LLC, with another smaller project for them potentially going to happen. Mind 2 Eye Studio’s owner contacted me she’s looking to redo her website to match her new business card, I don’t know if this means she got married or not but it’s good for me either way. And I was showing off my personal portfolio page at DM for a critique on the design to get a few artistic points of view and people who actually know how to critique for the most part and I got a potential client from that. I’m pretty sure I’ve got the job, the details are just being worked out and such.
I’ve started writing Cari’s background story into a new world. You can check it out at wordpress.com’s site. I want a few more readers than just my friends for that. My goal is to write 500 words Monday thru Thursday and if I can the rest of the week. So far I’m on targer for the past two days. Monday was not happening as I had a killer headache.
Speaking of which I’m tracking my headaches again. I think I’m going to start tracking the weather/pressure as well to see if there is some sort of link with my headaches. I’ve not started tracking pressure yet, that requires me to make a new set up for tracking things, so I’ll probably do that this weekend.
The girls are doing well. Samantha is growing fast, she’s starting to roll over and she’s a very happy baby and a thumb sucker. I find it funny that Kathleen never did find her thumb and hardly used a pacifer, and Samatha uses her thumb to fall asleep almost all the time. It was the pacifier until she found her thumb, but now that she’s done that she doesn’t like the pacifier.
Both Kel and Nat are pregnant, I’m happy for them both, particularly Nat and Den they’ve been trying so long.
Darkness shrouded the city at all hours of the day, but the lights were always on. Springfield lay high above the earth below. A floating city that orbited the devastation below, it was the new sun, moon and stars for those who lived below. Spirits were high around the club, a new band was playing. You could hear the music drifting from the doors as they opened up to allow new customers in. The Feeding Grounds was a popular club in the undercurrents of humanity. Sandy Duran had never been to the Feeding Grounds before, she’d never experienced the undercurrents herself, but her friends raved about it. They had finally talked her into coming down to the club, just this once to see the new band.
Sandy and her friends had finally reached the front of the line. It was a chatter of girliness that never seemed to pass no matter how old they got. They were excited, relaxed and Sandy was unaware of what was really around them. The door opened releasing the loud music and a couple arm in arm, nearly coming out of their clothes as they walked, it was obvious where they were going. The red rope lowered and the girls were admitted into the club.
The darkness outside seemed light compared to the atmosphere of the club. Lights in blues and reds shined down on to the crowd, tinting clothes and hair unnaturally. The stage off to the right was filled with instruments of every kind that could make noise and be considered music. Four men pranced around behind one lone female singer as the band played on. The crowd was bouncing to the music as if entranced. Sandy looked around, her friends had slipped away and she couldn’t see them anywhere. They had left her to her own devices. She wandered up to the bar and ordered a drink, rum on the rocks.
Sandy sat on the bar stool with her back to the bar to watch the crowd. Her drink placed at her side on a white napkin. She thanked the bar tend and turned back around to face the crowd. She still could not find her friends. Men were approaching women. Women were approaching men. There was even same gender approaching each other. Sandy watched as the people mingled with one another. One girl held her arm out to a tall pale man, he pulled it to his cheek and the girl nearly fell over as she swooned over the gesture. Sandy began to wonder if the undercurrents were really for her, but she couldn’t leave, she came with her friends and she wasn’t the driver.
Sandy watched as a woman next to her was approached by another woman. The woman who arrived pressed her face to the woman’s neck in greeting and the other woman tilted her head to the side. And before Sandy knew what was going on they were gone. She’d only turned to grab her drink, and then they’d left.
Time passes by slowly when you are lost or confused. Sandy wasn’t having any fun and it showed on her face. A woman in dark clothes with fiery red hair sat down on the empty bar stool next to her. “You’ve never been here have you?”
Sandy looked at the woman, “Is it that obvious?”
The woman smiled. “From someone who sees it everyday, yes. Are you looking for anything in particular?”
“No, not really, my friends brought me here to try new things. I’ve yet to see anything new.”
The red head smiled. “I’m Cari, and if you are interested I can bring to you what your friends here are offering you.”
“No, that’s okay, I’m sure they’ll find me and we’ll be leaving soon.”
Cari nodded and stood up. “If you change your mind let me know.” And then the strange woman was gone. Sandy wondered what had been the point of that conversation.
An hour later Sandy was still at the bar, her friends were no where to be seen. But a man, came up to her and nuzzled her neck like the woman had done before to the other at the bar. He whispered, “You smell nice.”
Sandy smiled and turned towards him. He laid a kiss on her neck and the warmth of his lips made her feel that tight sensation only a man could bring out in her. He bought her a drink, and then another, and as the night wore on Sandy was ready to leave with him and spend an exciting night in his bed. They left the club together, Sandy was glad things had gone the way they had.
Cari watched as the new letter walked out the door with a strange vampire. But it wasn’t Cari’s job to know the vampires, that was Jake’s job. Cari could never bounce a vampire, not even one who was attracted to her. Their extraordinary strength and speed only made her a pawn to their queen. It seemed that her friends had after all shown her the way of donors even if they’d abandoned her to the clubs ambiance.
A man came and sat down next to Cari. “I see the fledgling left with a vampire.”
Cari smiled. “Yeah, it seems she was after something after all.”
“Deigo wants to see you after your shift.”
“Thanks Jake, Deigo always wants to see me after my shifts.”
“It’s your turn after all.”
Cari smiled at him. “I know, Sam and Rita both flaked on him last night, he had to find another.”
“You’d never flake on him would you?”
Cari smiled. “Mind if I take a few minuites and freshen up a bit before our shift ends?”
It was Jake’s turn to smile. “By all means go gussy up for the boss man.”
Cari went into the lady’s room and did just that, she freshened her make up and took mindful consideration into her attire, removing articles of clothing that could get in the way of her desires for the night. Deigo was her lover, and she was his letter. She willingly gave him her blood in exchange for sex. It was prostitution of sorts, but that was the culture of the Feeding Grounds. Letters, the willing blood donors to vampires, gave up their life blood in exchange for something. Some choose sex, others money or drugs. Cari’s choice was sex. And she was a one vampire Letter, only Deigo could take from her. She’d been with others vampires before but that was before she’d met Deigo and started working as the female side of the bouncer inside of the club.
Deigo’s office was in the only room upstairs, it had a large bay window that overlooked the club. As Cari walked out of the lady’s room she saw Deigo standing at the window. He wasn’t a large man, but he was beautiful in his own right. His features stood out against his pale skin, dark eyes with hair that framed his angelic face. Cari walked up the stairs to his office and knocked softly. “Come in my dear.”
She opened the tall door and walked into a warmth of lights. The bay window was tinted to hold out the light from his office. It was like walking into a sauna, it was hot and humid and Deigo watched as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of her face. “I’m a bit hungry.” He walked up to Cari with grace and placed his cold lips to her warm skin. It sent shivers down her skin. Deigo kissed Cari’s neck before sinking his fangs into her vein. A soft moan escaped Cari’s mouth and the courting ritual would begin.
